Boarding the "Island Girl" is easy via a side gangway ladder and her walkaround is well protected and secure for sea. Forward is a beefy Capstain and electric Nielson Windlass with foot pedals, remote at helm and just rebuilt with a Rockler Anchor 40kg having 275 feet of fresh chain. The portugese bridge offers seating that is protected from the sea and yet very outdoor friendly. The aft deck with its double doors and seating make the salon and deck belong together well. On the flybridge you could easily sit 12 to14 people all the fabrics are fresh and there is a crane for the dinghy. Both sides offer mechanical stabilizers that are well mounted with backing plates and easy to use as well as ability to run with paravanes or flopper stoppers, nice installation. The flybridge also offers a wet bar and grilling area with Magma BBQ, small fridge and counter/storage. The Bimini is in great shape with new glass on the front panels while the back is open. There is a Sony stereo system for entertainment that has surround sound and 8 Bose speakers with subwolfer, usb, bluetooth, AM/FM and C/D player. The F/B Helm has a (fresh) Garmin RadarGPS/Chartplotter ICOM AIS VHF Radio, Loud Hailer, Side Power Bow Thruster, Aetna digital Tachs, new gauges, and a 5" Richie compass. To starboard is a staircase down to the lower helm fwd. as well as aft deck access stbd. aft.
As you enter the lower helm from the flybridge the craftsmanship really becomes apparent
from stair case bannister to no leaky windows and dove tail joints on the drawers, she is definently BUILT!! In todays boat building world they couldn't even afford the real wood in this trawler let alone find it!! Her pilothouse has dual entry from either side. There is a small dinette behind the helm that doubles as a crew quarter. Herr lower electronics are the Garmin all in one, autopilot Raymarine, Regency Polaris loudhailer, Apelco ADF, Icom VHF, Icom SSB (Not hooked up), 4 unit handheld UHF for onboard communication, Side power bow thruster, tank monitors. Then leading aft is the galley to port with a new tankless propane hot water system, washer and dryer (washer in galley dryer adjacent), double S/S Sinks w/ new garbage disposal, newer Samsung microwave and S/S Refrigerator, and a 4 burner glass propane cooktop. Aft of the galley is the large main salon with double centered glass doors opening to the aft deck all on the same level!
The master stateroom is entered into via a staircase on stbd. of the main salon. It has a walkaround king with vanity, lots of hanging locker space and an ensuite Vacuflush head with it's own 30 gallon holding tank and separate shower stall. The woodwork really shows itself off here especially with the carved family crests on the doors! Then leading forward is the stand up engine room where her 3208's are easily accessed for service etc. There are large racors with vacumm gauges, an oil changing pump, Victron 5000 new inverter with 4 Varta AGMs 8D, 8kw Northern Lights genset with sound shield, 3 bilge pumps 750, 1500, 2500 and a work bench with tool chest. The engine room is well commissioned for ease of access to problem areas at sea. Then heading forward is the 2nd VIP stateroom with lots of draweer and hanging locker space, ensuite Vacuflush head and shower stall, custom marble counters (also in the fwd head) , and it's holding tank is a 40 gal. and shares with the forward head making a total of 3 Vacuflush systems. In the forward stateroom there is a double to stbd with a single above it. A winding staircase takes you back to the pilothouse. Everywhere throughout the "Island Girl" the woodwork is stunning and warm.
